Amy Schneider is an American writer and game show contestant. She is known for her run on Jeopardy!, where she holds the record for second-most number of consecutive games won, 40. She also won the 2022 Tournament of Champions.

She is from a Catholic family. Amy is a transgender woman. She is married to Genevieve Davis.

Amy’s paternal grandfather was Harold Louis Schneider (the son of Albert Francis Schneider and Clara Catherine Hudepohl). Harold was born in Ohio, and was of German descent. Albert was the son of Herbert George Schneider and Rosalie Simon. Clara was the daughter of Henry Hudepohl and Anna Maria Wehlage, who were of German parentage.

Amy’s paternal grandmother was Mary Esther Loftus (the daughter of Thomas Francis Loftus and Margaret C. Daly). Mary was born in Ohio, and was of Irish descent. Thomas was the son of Irish parents, Michael James Loftus, from County Roscommon, and Bridget O’Hara, from County Galway.

Amy’s maternal grandfather was Vincent Edward Sacksteder, Jr. (the son of Vincent Edward Sacksteder and Catherine Antoinette Mahoney). Amy’s grandfather Vincent was born in Tennessee. Amy’s great-grandfather Vincent was the son of German parents, Nicholas Sacksteder, from St. Wendel, and Mary Helen Burkhardt, from Baden-Württemberg. Catherine was the daughter of John Joseph Mahoney and Mary Cecilia Langley, and had Irish ancestry.

Amy’s maternal grandmother was Josephine E. Schaefers (the daughter of Nicholas “Nick” Schaefers and Mary M. Troy). Josephine was born in Ohio.
