Her roles include the series Who’s the Boss?, Melrose Place, Charmed, My Name Is Earl, Mistresses, Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later, and Insatiable, and the films Double Dragon, Embrace of the Vampire, and Poison Ivy II: Lily. She is also known for her #MeToo activism.

Alyssa is the daughter of Lin Milano, a talent manager, and Thomas M. Milano, who edits film music. She is of Italian descent. Alyssa is married to agent David Bugliari, with whom she has two children.

Alyssa’s paternal grandfather was named Thomas R. Malano (the son of Raffaele Malano and Pasqualina Maria). Thomas was born in New York, to Italian parents.

Alyssa’s paternal grandmother was named Connie.

Alyssa’s maternal grandfather was John Bernard Ronzo (the son of Anthony Ronzo and Antonetta Marmorello).

Alyssa’s maternal grandmother was Helen Galea (the daughter of Girolamo Galea and Maria Riccio). Helen’s parents were from Calabria, Italy. Maria was the daughter of Giuseppe Riccio and Teresa Marra.
