Alexander Ludwig is a Canadian model, actor, and country musician. His roles include The Sandlot: Heading Home, The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, Race to Witch Mountain, The Hunger Games, Grown Ups 2, Lone Survivor, When the Game Stands Tall, Final Girl, The Final Girls, Midway, Bad Boys for Life, Operation Christmas Drop, and National Champions.

His father, Harald Horst Ludwig, is a businessperson, who was co-chair of Lionsgate Entertainment. His mother, Sharlene Martin, is an actress; much like the lead character’s mother in his film The Final Girls, Alexander’s mother had appeared in a 1980s slasher film as the killer’s prey, having played Tamara in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.

Alexander’s paternal grandparents were German and Belgian, respectively. Alexander’s mother, whose family has lived in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, for many generations, has English, Scottish, German, and Jersey [Channel Islander] ancestry.

Alexander is married to Lauren Dear, with whom he has a daughter.

Alexander’s paternal grandfather was Dieter/Deiter Ludwig (the son of Karl Richard Ludwig and Marthe Ottilie Zimmermann/Zimmerman). Dieter was born in Danzig, Germany.

Alexander’s paternal grandmother was named Rosa Braeckman. Rosa was born in Antwerp, Belgium.

Alexander’s maternal grandfather is Fred Martin (the son of Colin Thomas Martin and Margaret Jane Foy). Colin was born in Strathfield, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Frederick John Stuart Martin and Violet Evangeline Forder, who was from Auckland, New Zealand. Margaret was born in Cockermouth, Cumberland, England, the daughter of Joseph Foy and Margaret Frances Constance McVittie Graham.

Alexander’s maternal grandmother is Marilyn Cook (the daughter of Edward Clarence “Clay” Koch/Cook and Elsie Margaret Brown). Clarence was born in Wiarton, Bruce, Ontario, Canada, the son of Edward Ezra Koch/Cook, who was of German descent, and of Anna/Ann May “Margaret” Smith, whose parents were Scottish, from Ross and Cromarty. Alexander’s great-grandmother Elsie was born in Edmonton, Alberta, the daughter of Charles Brown, who was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, and of Elsie Susan Valpy, who was born on St. Mary, Jersey, in the Channel Islands, to parents with roots on Grouville, Jersey.
