Alain Berset is a Swiss politician. He has served as a member of the Swiss Federal Council, since 1 January, 2012, in which he has been the President of Switzerland, since 1 January, 2018; as well as the the Vice President of Switzerland, from 1 January, 2017 to 31 December, 2017. He has also served as the Head of the Department of Home Affairs, since 1 January, 2012.
