Richard Linklater is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor.
Richard is the son of Diane and Charles Linklater III. He is married to Christina Harrison, with whom he is the father of actress Lorelei Linklater.
Richard’s paternal grandfather was Charles Waterloo Linklater, Jr. (the son of Charles Waterloo Linklater, Sr. and Mabel Ellen Winkler). Richard’s grandfather Charles was born in Illinois. Richard’s great-grandfather Charles was the son of James Linklater, who was from Shetland, Scotland, and of Julia Esther Root. Mabel was the daughter of William Winkler, whose parents were German, and of Elizabeth “Lizzie” Ficke/Fieke, whose parents were also German.
