Bob Kane is an American comic book writer and artist. Along with writer Bill Finger, he created the DC Comics superhero Batman (Bruce Wayne).

Bob was the son of Augusta “Gussie” (Tuchman) and Herman Kahn. His parents were both born in New York, both of them to Russian Jewish immigrants. He was married to Elizabeth Sanders, until his death. He had a daughter with his former wife Beverly.

Bob’s paternal grandparents were named Reubin Kahn and Fannie Scherefsky.

Bob’s maternal grandparents were named Peter Tuchman and Rose Price.
