Jack Savoretti is a British acoustic singer, songwriter, and musician.

He is the son of Ingrid and Guido Galletto-Savoretti. He was raised in London, before moving to Lugano, Switzerland, where he attended an American school. Jack speaks fluent Italian. He is married to actress Jemma Powell, with whom he has three children.

Jack’s paternal grandfather was named Giovanni Savoretti. Giovanni was from Genoa, Liguria, Italy. He led the partisan movement against German occupation in Genoa during WWII.

Jack’s maternal grandfather was named Edgar Hepner.

Jack’s maternal grandmother was named Charlotte R. L. Budig.

Jack has stated:

My father is Italian, my mother was born in England but her parents were “German-Polish,” her father was Polish Jewish, her mother was German. At the beginning of the ’30s this relationship wasn’t “trendy” so they escaped to Paris and London, where my mother was born.

    So Jack says in the interview that his grandfather was a Polish Jew and his grandmother was a German non-Jew?
