Yoshirō Mori is a Japanese politician. He has served as Prime Minister of Japan, from 5 April, 2000 and 26 April, 2001. He has also been Minister of Education, from 27 December, 1983 to 1 November, 1984, Minister of Construction, from 8 August, 1995 to 11 January, 1996, Chair of the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, from 24 January, 2014 to 12 February, 2021, and President of the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, from 21 August, 2016 to 12 February, 2021, among other duties.

He is the son of Kaoru and Shigeki Mori, who was a businessperson and politician. His father and grandfather were both Mayors of Neagari, Ishikawa Prefecture. He is married to Chieko Maki, with whom he has two children.
