Yasuo Fukuda is a Japanese politician. He served as the 58th Prime Minister of Japan, from 26 September, 2007 to 24 September, 2008. He was also Chief Cabinet Secretary, from October 2000 to 7 May, 2004, among other duties.

He is the son of Mie (Arai) and Takeo Fukuda, who served as the 42nd Prime Minister of Japan, from 24 December, 1976 to 7 December, 1978. He is married to Kiyoko Mine, with whom he has one child.

Yasuo’s paternal grandfather was named Yoshiharu Fukuda.

Yasuo’s maternal grandfather was named Fumio Arai (the son of Arai Yoshisato).
