William Lemke was an American politician. As a Republican, he was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from North Dakota, from March 4, 1933 to January 3, 1941, and again from January 3, 1943 to May 30, 1950.

He was the Union Party’s nominee for President of the United States in 1936. The Union Party existed between 1935 and 1936.

William was the son of Julia Anna (Kleir) and Frederick William Lemke. His father was born in Zachodniopomorskie, Poland, to ethnic German parents, and moved to the U.S. in 1851. His mother was born in Wisconsin, to parents from Landkreis, Bavaria, Germany.

He was married to Isabelle McIntyre, with whom he had three children.

William’s paternal grandfather was named Carl/Charles Lemke (the son of Ludwig Lemke and Wilhelmine).

William’s paternal grandmother was named Friederieke/Friedericka Pesch.

William’s maternal grandparents were named Antonius Adam “Anton” Klier and Theresa Hotter.
