Unnur Birna Vilhjálmsdóttir is an Icelandic actress, lawyer, model, and beauty queen. She won Miss Iceland 2005 and Miss World 2005. She is the daughter of Vilhjálmur Skúlason and Unnur Steinsson. Her father’s last name is a patronymic while her mother’s last name is a family name. She is married to Pétur Rúnar Heimisson, with whom she has three children.

Unnur’s paternal grandfather is Skúli Guðbjörn Jóhannesson (the son of Jóhannes Bjarni Magnússon and Jóhanna Kristína Fjóla Bjarnadóttir). Jóhannes was the son of Magnús Sigurðsson and Guðrún Jóhannesdóttir. Jóhanna is the daughter of Bjarni Jónsson and Þóranna Kristensa Jónsdóttir.

Unnur’s paternal grandmother is Erla Vilhjálmsdóttir (the daughter of Helgi Vilhjálmur Þórðarson and Jórunn Helga Finnbogadóttir). Unnur’s great-grandfather Vilhjálmur was the son of Þórður Vilhjálmsson and Þorbjörg Þórarinsdóttir. Helga was the daughter of Finnbogi Guðmundsson and Þorkelína Jónsdóttir.

Unnur’s maternal grandfather was Helgi Steinsson (the son of Jóhann Torfi Steinsson and Esther Judith Løfstedt, later Löfstedt). Helgi was born in Reykjavik. Jóhann was the son of Steinn Kristjánsson and Helga Jónsdóttir. Esther was born in Rønne, Bornholm, Denmark, the daughter of Swedish parents, Åke Andersson Löfstedt (or Åge Andersen Løfstedt in Danish), of Baldringe, Skåne, and Mathilda Gummesdotter (or Gummesdatter in Danish), of Bräkne-Hoby, Blekinge.

Unnur’s maternal grandmother was Jórunn Karlsdóttir (the daughter of Karl Georg Magnússon and Magnea Guðrún Ingimundardóttir). Jórunn was born in Reykjavik. Karl was the son of Magnús Árnason and Kristín Sigurðardóttir. Magnea was the daughter of Ingimundur Pjetursson and Jórunn Magnúsdóttir.

    Unnur’s grandparents Helgi and Jórunn were born in Reykjavik.

    Esther’s birth surname is Løfstedt, but she later changed her surname to Löfstedt when she moved to Iceland. Also, correct her parents to Swedish emigrants, Åke Andersson Löfstedt (or Åge Andersen Løfstedt in Danish), of Baldringe, Skåne and of Mathilda Gummesdotter (or Gummesdatter in Danish), of Bräkne-Hoby, Blekinge.
