Tyler Glenn is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the lead singer and keyboardist of rock band Neon Trees.

Tyler is the son of Debra and Dale Glenn. His family is Mormon.

Tyler’s maternal grandfather was Archie Milton Bowser (the son of Archibald Milton “Archie” Bowser and Esther Elizabeth Salmonson). Tyler’s great-grandfather Archibald was the son of Rhinaldo Milton Bowser and Mary Alice Lindsey, and had German, Irish, and English ancestry. Esther was the daughter of Swedish parents, Carl Gustaf Salmonson, from Berga, Högsby kommun, Kalmar län, and Josephine Christina Swanson.

Tyler’s maternal grandmother was Mary Patterson/Pat Heliker (the daughter of Oviatt Van Rensselaer/VanRenselaer/VanRensselaer Heliker and Dorothy Elizabeth Patterson). Oviatt was the son of Albert John Heliker and Frances Emily Oviatt. Dorothy was the daughter of James Clarence Patterson and Elizabeth Virginia Walton.

    He also has a great-aunt (that’s what he calls her at least) named Gwendolyn “Gwen” (Char) Heliker, who is from Hawaii, and of Chinese descent. She appears to be connected to him from his mother’s side (in some way).

    Any help on what’s going on here? Why doesn’t his maternal grandparents have the same surname as his mother? Is there a biological connection to Gwen?

    Must be the first Mormon whose ancestry isn’t super easy to find. I’ve tried more than what should be necessary, given how much is usually known about Mormon family history.

    Could I again suggest they get their own tag?
