Tony’s maternal grandmother has definitely non European ancestry (watch the wedding portrait at 0:32). I am not sure about his grandfather. You can see this influence in Tony’s eyes.

I meant paternal grandmother

Very surprising.

I see people suggesting that his father must be 100% White just because he looks White. But I’m assuming you people must not be very familiar with mixed race individuals, because it’s common for the children of White/Mestizo couples to have children that can pass for fully White. Even some Mestizos can pass as White.

Check7t November 16, 2014 at 6:05 am

Most mestizos (the overwhelming majority) do not look white.

Even most castizos don’t look quite European and still show Amerindian influence.

Rip November 20, 2014 at 2:38 am

Mestizos can vary widely in appearance from very fair to dark tan, so it depends on the individual. And you can sometimes find that variety even within members of an immediate family. For instance, I come form a Mestizo background and I have a sister with fair complexion and auburn hair and a brother with a darker complexion, while I have a medium complexion. My brother happens to be married to a White blonde woman and their children are as blonde and fair as she. So like I said, it’s not at all uncommon for Mestizo/White couples to produce fully White passing children. Btw, Castizo is considered an archaic term for the most part, Mestizo is most commonly used today to refer to anyone with a considerable amount of European and Indigenous admixture.

he’s white. his dad was probably a white mexican.

he is just White; looks 100% Euro.

People are biased when they come to know his Mexican background.

veronica March 31, 2012 at 3:28 pm

I hope people realize that “Mexican” is not an ethnicity. Most People in Mexico share some combination of Amerindian/Mestizo, Spanish (from Spain), and Asiatic. There’s a also an African element in SOME of the people. Also, there are many ethnic German people that immigrated to Mexico hundreds of years ago, and continue to live. A person that is, say, 75% Spanish (from Spain) and 25% Amerindian, will look VERY different from someone with the reverse percentages. Make no mistake though, Spanish, Amerindian/Mestizo, and Asian are the ETHNICITIES. Mexican is the NATIONALITY. Nobody is ethnically Mexican. With that said, Romo is Polish/German. His family emigrated to Mexico and lived there. So, he’s a white boy.

Dan December 9, 2013 at 8:44 pm

Correction….it’s stated that he’s half Mexican, but judging by his looks, it’s probably mostly Spanish (from Spain) in his “Mexican” side. So he’s probably almost completely European in genes. Spanish/German/Polish is my guess.

ellie December 10, 2013 at 5:12 pm

mexican is indeed an ethniticy most mexican have their own ethnic backgroung (mayan, amerindians, aztecs, native somewhat european) and have nothing to with spanish just cuz it’s official language in mexico. in some regions native mexican indian speak their own dialect

Dan December 10, 2013 at 11:44 pm

???? Spanish (from Spain) DNA is in tons of people that are Mexican. I hope you realize that. Spain is in Europe. What is, “native somewhat European”? This is why Mexico is indeed a Nationality and not an ethnicity. You contradicted yourself. All of those things you listed are ethnicity’s. Granted, many of the people possess some or all of those ethnicity’s, but Mexico has only been “Mexico’ since 1821. When you think of the entire duration of human existence, this wasn’t very long ago. 1821 was the year they won independence from Spain. Generally, ethnicity’s are ancient. These are all places that can be traced back since the beginning of time, and they were indeed inhabited with ONE race of native people. Think Rome, Greece (other European countries), Africa, etc. Although there were Mayans, Aztecs, and other Native American on the land of what is now Mexico, they essentially formed to create a hybrid race of many ethnicity’s all mashed together. This is why it isn’t a TRUE ethnicity. Some Mexicans can be pure Native/Amerindian, some can be almost all Spanish, some can be a combination, some can be fully German, etc. It all depends on what a DNA test says. That’s why it isn’t an ethnicity, it’s a Nationality. Using your logic, then “American” would be an ethnicity, which we all know it isn’t.

His dad is probably a white Mexican. Could be a mestizo or castizo, though.

LOL..FALSE November 19, 2010 at 12:02 am

He is half Mexican, his father is Mexican American. He can look 100% Mexican.

Anonymous August 5, 2010 at 3:39 pm

not very cute

Brittney December 9, 2013 at 3:52 pm

He’s actually VERY cute. He looks like a REAL man. Not one of these girly, estrogen-filled, modern day Nancy boys, that the gay men in the entertainment industry push as “hot.” Women that like men that look like girls should just come out of the closet already.

VeRoni March 8, 2010 at 10:38 am
