Tiit Vähi is an Estonian politician. He was Prime Minister of the Interim Government, from 29 January, 1992 to 21 October, 1992, and Prime Minister of Estonia, from 17 April, 1995 to 17 March, 1997.

He is the son of Silvi Senni Vilhelmine and Robert Vähi. He is married to Raine-Lea Rublevski.

Tiit’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his fifth great-grandfather, Hans Vähi.

Tiit’s paternal grandfather was Kaarel Vähi (or Karl Vähi in German, the son of Kusta Vähi and Lisa Kaiv). Kaarel was born in Karula. Kusta was the son of Hindrik Wähhi and Marret Pikksöör. Lisa was the daughter of Johann Kaiv and Nora Graw.

Tiit’s paternal grandmother was Marie Rimm (the daughter of Juhan Rimm and Sohvi Andrei). Marie was born in Käomäe, Vana-Antsla. Juhan was the son of Rein Rimm and Madli. Sohvi was the daughter of Jaan Andrei and Lotta Aind.

Tiit’s maternal grandfather was Peter Waab (the son of Peep Waab and Katri Thom, later Toom). Peep was the son of Jaan Vaab and Ann Toots. Katri was the daughter of Peeter Thom and Leno Sarnit.

Tiit’s maternal grandmother was named Miili Sprenk (or Emilie Sprenk in German, the daughter of Anna Sprenk). Miili was born in Võrumaa. Anna was the daughter of Juhhan Sprenk and Liisu Helstein.

Tiit’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his third great-grandmother, Anno Pikk.
