Ted Williams was an American professional baseball player and manager. He was a Major League Baseball left fielder, and played for the Boston Red Sox. Ted is in the Baseball Hall of Fame. He was nicknamed “Teddy Ballgame,” “The Kid,” “The Splendid Splinter,” and “The Thumper.”

Ted was the son of Micaela “May” (Venzor) and Samuel Stuart Williams. Ted’s father, from New York, had English, Welsh, and possibly other, ancestry. Ted’s mother was born in Texas, to Mexican parents.

Ted had a daughter with his former wife Doris Soule; and two children, including businessperson John Henry Williams, with his former wife, Miss Vermont and Vogue model, Dolores Wettach.

Ted’s paternal grandfather was Nicholas Williams (the son of Eliakim F. Williams and Mary Jane Smith). Nicholas was born in New York. Eliakim was the son of Eliakim/Elisha Williams and Mary Denison.
