Bodie Olmos is an American television and film actor.

Bodie is the son of Kaija Liane (Keel) and actor Edward James Olmos. Bodie’s siblings are Mico and Daniela.

Bodie’s father is of Mexican ancestry. He has also stated that his family’s surname was originally “Olmosh”, and that he has Hungarian Jewish ancestry from the surname. It is not clear, however, if this information has been verified/documented. “Olmos” is a common Spanish surname. The surname “Olmosh” does not appear to exist in Hungary.

Bodie’s mother is of one half Swedish, one quarter German, and English descent, along with some Swiss-French roots.

Bodie’s paternal grandfather was Pedro Olmos. Pedro was a Mexican immigrant.

Bodie’s paternal grandmother was Eleanor Huizar (the daughter of Alfredo Franco Huizar). Alfredo was born in Texas, to parents from Mexico, Agustin Huizar and Maria/Mary Franco.

Bodie’s maternal grandfather was actor and singer Howard Keel, who was born Harry Clifford Keel (the son of Charles Homer Keel and Grace/Gracey M. Osterkamp). Charles was the son of William Carter Keel and Sarah E. Duncan. Grace was the daughter of Frederick “Fred” Osterkamp, who was German, and of Tilley/Tillie Miller, who was born in Illinois, to parents from Germany.

Bodie’s maternal grandmother was Helen Elizabeth Anderson (the daughter of Adolf Anderson and Esther Lundberg). Helen was born in New Jersey, to Swedish parents.

When asked about his origins, he stated in an interview:

Actually, I have a double passport, Swiss-German, but I am Swiss, and I have always felt good in my country. My mother’s Swiss and my dad’s German, given his origins are Czech. It happens that Wawrinka’s a Polish name because I had a great grandfather who was living on the border between Poland & Czechoslovakia.
