Sage Stallone

by madman on October 5, 2018

Birth Name: Sage Moonblood Stallone

Date of Birth: May 5, 1976

Place of Birth: Los Angeles, California, United States

Date of Death: July 2012

Place of Death: Los Angeles, California, U.S.

Ethnicity: Italian, French Breton, Polish, German or Ashkenazi Jewish, possibly other

Sage Stallone was an American actor, film director, film producer, and film distributor. He was the son of actress and photographer Sasha Czack (Alexandra Jane Czach) and actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone. His half-siblings include actress Sophia Rose Stallone and model Sistine Stallone. His uncle is actor Frank Stallone.

Sage’s paternal grandfather was Frank Stallone, Sr., who owned beauty salons and played polo (the son of Silvestro Stallone and Pulcheria Nicastri). Frank was born in Gioia del Colle, Provincia di Bari Puglia, Italy. Silvestro was the son of Domenico Stallone and Maria Giuditta Patarino. Pictures of Sage’s grandfather and great-grandfather can be seen here. Sage’s great-grandmother Pulcheria was the daughter of Francesco Nicastri and Nunziata Speranza.

Sage’s paternal grandmother is Jackie Stallone, an astrologer, dancer, and women’s wrestling promoter (born Jacqueline Frances Labofish, the daughter of John Paul Labofish and Jeanne Victoria Adrienne Anne Clérec). Jackie was born in Washington, D.C. Sage’s great-grandfather John was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the son of Charles Schachan/Shashan Labofish/Labofisz and Rose Ethel Lemlich/Lamlec/Lamletz/Lemletz. On census records and in other documents, Charles and Rose were listed as born in Germany most of the time, or in Russia, some of the time. Their language was usually listed as “German.” Sage’s great-grandmother Jeanne was born in Brittany, France, to French (Catholic) parents, Louis Victor Clérec and Marie Pauline Rodrigue, and had Breton ancestry.

Sage’s maternal grandfather likely was Joseph Czach (the son of Valentine Czach and Marie/Mary). Valentine and Marie were Polish emigrants. Valentine was born in Rzeszów, Poland.

It is not completely clear what Sage’s paternal great-grandfather John Paul Labofish’s ethnic background was. There are some indications that the family was German, and lived in the Russian Empire. An article in The Daily Mail, a British middle-market tabloid, stated that Sage’s paternal great-grandfather was of Jewish heritage, but it is not clear if this is accurate. There are many indications that he was not Jewish, and, it appears that, at least after they moved to the United States, Sage’s paternal great-grandfather’s family were Christian by religion (although it is possible that they were born Jewish).
