Aimee Carrero

Birth Name: Aimee Carrero-Vila

Place of Birth: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Date of Birth: July 15, 1988

Ethnicity:
*Puerto Rican (father)
*Dominican Republic (mother)

Aimee Carrero is a Dominican-born American actress. She is married to actor Tim Rock.

Aimee is the daughter of Mary Josefina (Vila) and Rodney Carrero-Santana. She has a brother, Rodney Gabriel. They were raised in Miami, Florida.

She has stated:

Well it’s great and it’s funny because I’m Puerto Rican and Dominican, but I feel very Cuban because I grew up around all [of] them. In Miami, out of all the Latin people, I want to say that 60 percent of them are Cuban. So when I talk in Spanish, tengo como un acento cubana (I have like a Cuban accent). It’s very confused. You know, some of it is Puerto Rican-Dominican and some of it is Cuban. And so it’s funny because people assume I’m Cuban when I speak to them in Spanish.

Aimee is pictured with her parents and brother here.

Wilson Jermaine Heredia

by stlucas on March 29, 2017

Place of Birth: Brooklyn, New York City, New York, U.S.

Date of Birth: December 2, 1971

Ethnicity: Dominican Republic (African, Spanish, possibly other)

Wilson Jermaine Heredia is an American actor. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Dominican parents.

Regarding his family, he has stated in an interview:

So, they’re [Wilson’s parents] proud—but years later, I would go see my parents, and my mom would say [he assumes a Spanish accent] “You can still be a doctor, you know. You can still go back to school.” See, my dad is a black Dominican and my mom is a white Dominican, so the 70s were very rough for them here. Their attitude was [acting] should be a hobby, because they didn’t come to this country so that their kids would have to struggle the way they did.
