Susan Hayward was an American actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for I Want to Live! (1958).

Susan was the daughter of Ellen Florence (Pearsson) and Walter Marrenner. Her father was of English and Irish descent. Her mother was the daughter of Swedish parents. She was married to Floyd Eaton Chalkley, until his death. She had two children with her former husband, actor Jess Barker.

Susan’s paternal grandfather was Joseph Borden Marrenner (the son of Edwin Henry Marrenner and Elizabeth D. Borden). Joseph was born in New York.

Susan’s paternal grandmother was named Catherine Rebecca “Kate” Harrigan. Catherine was born in New York, to an Irish father. It is not clear if her mother was also of Irish descent.

Susan’s maternal grandfather was named Theodor Pearsson. Theodor was a Swedish emigrant, from Vankiva, Skåne.

Susan’s maternal grandmother was Elna Nilsdotter (the daughter of Nils Pålsson and Bengta Svensdotter). Elna was a Swedish emigrant, from Vankiva, Skåne. Nils was the son of Pål Sonesson and Tyra Nilsdotter.
