Susan Hayward was an American actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for I Want to Live! (1958).

Susan was the daughter of Ellen Florence (Pearsson) and Walter Marrenner. Her father was of English and Irish descent. Her mother was the daughter of Swedish parents.

Susan’s paternal grandparents were Joseph Borden Marrenner (the son of Edwin Henry Marrenner and Elizabeth D. Borden) and Catherine Rebecca “Kate” Harrigan. Catherine’s father was Irish. It is not clear if her mother was also of Irish descent.

Susan’s maternal grandparents were Theodor Pearsson and Elna Nilsdotter (the daughter of Nils Pålsson and Bengta Svensdotter). Theodor and Elna were Swedish immigrants from Vankiva, Skåne, Sweden. Susan’s great-grandfather Nils was the son of Pål Sonesson and Tyra Nilsdotter.
