Steven Adams is a New Zealand professional basketball player. He plays for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He was born in Rotorua, to an English father, Sid Adams, who served in the Royal Navy, and a Tongan mother. He is one of eighteen siblings born to his father, with five different women. His sisters are Olympic shot putter Valerie Adams and Paralympic shot putter and discus thrower Lisa Adams.
