Stephen Strasburg is an American professional baseball player. He is a pitcher for the Washington Nationals. He is the son of Kathleen, a dietitian, and Jim Strasburg, a real estate developer. Stephen is married to Rachel Lackey, with whom he has two children.

Stephen’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, John Adam Strausberger and Barbara Catherine Funderburg, and to John’s father, Ernst Jacob Strausberger, who was born, c. 1700, in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Stephen’s paternal grandfather was Col. Roger Earl Strasburg (the son of Earl Francis Strasburg and Bessie Alnora Roth). Roger was born in New Lenox, Illinois.
