Sean Pertwee is a British actor and voice actor. His roles include the films Event Horizon, Soldier, Tale of the Mummy, Dog Soldiers, Doomsday, and The Invitation, and the shows Elementary and Gotham, among many other works.

He is the son of Ingeborg Rhoesa and actor Jon Pertwee (born John Devon Roland Pertwee). He has a sister, Dariel Pertwee, who is also an actress. His father was born in Chelsea, London. Sean’s mother was German.

He is married to make-up artist Jacqueline Jane “Jacqui” Hamilton-Smith, with whom he has had two children. Jacqueline is the daughter of peer, dentist, and politician, Anthony Hamilton-Smith, 3rd Baron Colwyn.

Sean’s paternal grandfather was Roland Pertwee (the son of Charles Ernest Pertwee and Emily Moore). Roland was born in Brighton, East Sussex. Charles was the son of Charles Pertwee and Emma Bickerton. The name Pertwee was spelled Perthuis generations back, or Perthuis de Laillevault, and had French Huguenot roots. Emily was the daughter of Edward Henry Moore and Emily Strachan.

Sean’s paternal grandmother was Avice Schöltz (the daughter of William Christiaan Schöltz and Agnes Judith Ellis). Avice was born in Cape Town, South Africa. William was born in Oudshoorn, Cape Colony, the son of Carel Frederik Schöltz and Justina Petronella Francina Vos, whose mother was born in Galle, Southern, Sri Lanka.
