Ronan Tynan is an Irish tenor singer, sports physician, and athlete.

He is the son of Theresa “Traus” (Hunt) and Edmond Rochford “Ned” Tynan.

Ronan’s paternal grandfather was Thomas Christopher “Tom” Tynan (the son of Thomas Tynan and Mary Anne Delaney). Ronan’s grandfather Thomas was born in Pike of Rushall, County Laois. Ronan’s great-grandfather Thomas was the son of John Tynan and Sarah Quilly. Mary Anne was the daughter of Connor Delaney and Anne Byrne.

Ronan’s paternal grandmother was Florence Rochford (the daughter of Edmond Rochford and Bridget Sheehy). Florence was born in Donaghmore, County Kilkenny. Edmond was the son of Edmond Rochford and Mary Maher. Bridget was the daughter of Edmond Sheehy and Elizabeth Dore.
