Roberto Cavalli was an Italian fashion designer, inventor, and entrepreneur. He ran his The Roberto Cavalli fashion house, which sold high-end clothing, perfume, and leather accessories. His creations included exotic prints and the sand-blasted look for jeans.

Roberto was the son of Marcella (Rossi) and Giorgio Cavalli. His father was shot by the Nazis in the Cavriglia massacre in 1944. Roberto had two children with his first wife; three children with his second wife, Austrian model Eva Maria Düringer; and one child with his partner, model and Playboy Playmate of the Month, Sandra Nilsson.

Roberto’s maternal grandfather was named Giuseppe Rossi. Giuseppe was an artist and painter, and a member of the Macchiaioli Movement.
