R.A. Dickey is an American professional baseball player. He was a pitcher, and played in Major League Baseball (MLB), for the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, and Atlanta Braves.

R.A. is the son of Leslie and Harry Dickey. He is married, and has four children.

R.A.’s paternal grandfather was Allen Lee Dickey (the son of Aaron Coleman Dickey and Dover Malinda Scott). R.A.’s grandfather Allen was born in Tennessee. Aaron was the son of Robert William Dickey and Nancy Hicks Pryor. Dover was the daughter of John Thomas Scott and Susan/Susie Lloyd.

R.A.’s paternal grandmother was Janie Lou Brashears (the daughter of Walter Martin Brashears and Annie E. Helton). Janie was born in Tennessee. Walter was the son of John Thomas Brashears and Sarah Jane Rose. Annie was the daughter of Joseph A. Helton and Mary Lou Adkinsson.

Lafayette was the son of Haskel G. Gilbert and Annie March. Ellalee was the daughter of William Henry Staggs and Emma Jane Barber.
