Patrick Vieira is a Senegalese-born French football head coach and player. At the international level, he obtained 107 caps for France, and was part of their 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000-winning sides.

Patrick’s family moved from Senegal to Dreux, France, when he was eight, and he did not return to Senegal until 2003. Patrick’s grandfather served in the French Army, making him eligible for French nationality at birth.

His father, Jacob, is said to be from Gabon. His mother, Rose Vieira, is from Cape Verde. The surname Vieira is Portuguese.

Patrick is married to Cheryl.
