Not true. Judaism is a religion, but being Jewish isn’t, because it’s based on lineages of your ancestry. You can become Jewish, but that’s just like being adopted by a TRIBE. You can be Jewish and atheist at the same time, for example.
Whether it should be considered tribal, or ethnic designation, I’m not sure.
