Naomie Harris is a British actress. Her roles include Moonlight, for which she received an Oscar nomination; Our Kind of Traitor, 28 Days Later, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, among many others. Her father, Brian Clarke, was born in Trinidad, to Grenadian and Guyanese parents. Her mother, Carmen Harris, is Jamaican. Her mother wrote for the soap opera EastEnders.

She has said:

…My mum’s from Jamaica, my dad’s from Trinidad; they both moved here when very young. My mum’s now a writer and my dad’s a fashion designer.

Naomie’s paternal grandfather was George Clarke (the son of Wilfred Clarke and Etta St Louis). George was born on Grenada. Wilfred was the son of Charles William Wallace Clarke, a white man, and of Anne-Sophia, a black woman.

Naomie’s paternal grandmother was named Barbara Kippins. Barbara was born on Guyana.

Naomie’s maternal grandfather was named Joscelyn Harris (the son of Syreta Tulloch). Syreta later married Ralph Harris, from which Naomie’s surname originated. Syreta was the daughter of Henry George Tulloch and Jemima Pottinger.

On the show Who Do You Think You Are? in 2019, Naomie traced her maternal ancestry to her five time great-grandmother, Elizabeth Leevers, a slave who had been born in Africa.

    Why do people try to avoid the black race? ooh why? whereis the world going to? people are not proud of thie herritage. now iread that seal is half African Nigerian and Half South American from Brazil?? ooh God, go to his native home land in Lagos and youll see his mother there, ps she’s fully black african. No signs of Brazil in her, she probably even doesnt know that country exisits

      @Betty boo, Afro Jamaican, Afro Trinidadian, Afro-American= BLACK. She s black but parents are from Jamaica and Trinidad. Not all blacks come from Africa these days.

    Jamaican is not ethnicity. Its where you’re from. As part jamaican I find this offensive. There are chinese jamaicans, caucasian jamaicans, spanish jamaicans. So please get this fixed.
