your all idiots. does it matter whether she’s african american or afro-jamaican? she was born in DC! besides all black people this side of the hemisphere aren’t even indiginous. like jamaica popped out of the water with black poeple on it hahaha. they were all slaves. soblack is black regardless of what prefixes it. besides shes not even jamaican.

WORLDLY BEAUTY
Mya (a.k.a. Mya Harrison) plays nightclub singer Lola Martinez in Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, but in real life, the beauty says she’s of Italian, African-American and Native American descent. “My mother’s mother is from Italy, right outside of Rome. My dad is African-American. His grandmother is American Indian,” she says.

If you were born in the United States of America then you are an American. Your birth entitles you to everything everyone else born here is entitled to. You people from the Caribbean are so naive and delusional. My parents were both born in the Caribbean but I was born here which makes me an African- American. And that is exactly what I go by..I see no other paperwork but my birth certificate. Caribbean people, get a life! Stop trying to take credit for America’s superstars. And as for Rhianna, people in Barbados continue to say she’s better than any American but you fail to realize that America Made Her. (producers, writers, fans, sales, etc) If she was still in Barbados, she’d be nothing to the world. It is what it is.

…of course as u can see, MYA is black, she may be mixed with some shit but the girl is african american. ALICIA keys is african american too for that dumb ass who said that mya and alicia keys don’t have any african american in them. That is a dumb stupid comment. I mean look at them, they’re obviously black. They may not be all black but everyone knows that black dominates and if u have any black in u at all then u’re considered black, duh!!
