Date of Birth: July 8, 1977

Milo Ventimiglia is an American actor, director, and producer. He is known for his roles as Peter Petrelli on Heroes, Jack Pearson on This Is Us, and Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls, as well as in the films Rocky Balboa, Armored, That’s My Boy, and The Art of Racing in the Rain.

Milo’s father, Peter Ventimiglia, is of Italian/Sicilian descent. Milo’s mother, Carol Lynn (Wilson), has English and Scottish ancestry. Milo’s maternal grandfather was from a family from the American South, while Milo’s maternal grandmother was from a family of recent emigrants from Canada, and England and Scotland before then. Milo is married to model Jarah Mariano.

Miloa has said:

…my family is Italian English Irish Scottish French and Native American…

Milo’s mother is specifically said to have Cherokee Native American and Blackfoot Native American ancestry. She is also said to have Indian (from the country, India) roots. It is not clear if these lineages have been verified/documented. All of Milo’s maternal grandparents and great-grandparents are listed as “White” on United States Censuses. It is also not clear which of Milo’s ancestors were Irish and/or French.

Milo’s paternal grandfather was John Anthony Ventimiglia (the son of Pietro/Peter Ventimiglia and Dorotea/Dorothy Corriere/Corrier). John was born in Illinois, to Italian parents. Pietro was from Alimena, Province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy, and was the son of Gaetano Ventimiglia and Calogera Militano. Dorotea was from Termini Imerese, also in Palermo, and was the daughter of Giovanni Curreri and Vincenza La Stella. The word Ventimiglia, meaning “twenty miles”, comes from the town of Ventimiglia, in Liguria, Italy, which later gave its name to another city, Ventimiglia di Sicilia. Ventimiglia is also a noble family.

Milo’s maternal grandfather was Anthie/Anthony “Tony” Wilson, Jr. (the son of Anthie Wilson and Sudie Mae Morris). Milo’s grandfather Tony was born in Oklahoma. Milo’s great-grandfather Anthie was the son of John Wesley/West Wilson and Zora Elima West. Sudie was the daughter of Charles Morris and Eddie.

Milo’s maternal grandmother was Frances Emily Maynard (the daughter of Leslie Philip/Phillip Maynard and Janet Emily Lamont). Frances was born in Kinistino, Saskatchewan, Canada, to American-born parents, from Michigan. Leslie was the son of John/James Henry Maynard and Jane F. Keaton. Milo’s great-grandmother Janet Lamont was born in Michigan, to Canadian parents, from Ontario, William Keith Lamont, whose parents were Scottish, with roots in Argyll and Bute; and Jane A. Marshall, whose father was Scottish.

correction: He was born in Anaheim, California

CORRECTION: He is also French, Irish and Native American. He has tweeted about it before:

“Milo is actually Greek but my family is Italian English Irish Scottish French and Native American”

Even if he is a descendant of even an Indian, he remains white. If he marries a European, for example, he will not have black children, so he’s Caucasian. One more white man tanned to get on the list and fool a lot of people.

I just added info on what he tweeted himself. And maybe the “Native” and “Indian” part he’s referring to part North African/Middle Eastern from his Italian ancestry, since some Southern Europeans & other Mediterranean countires have ancestry from from there from long time ago, but I’m aware that he’s white still.

          like admixture

First off, to the person who commented above…India is not by the Mediterranean and the ethnic groups there are much different from Mediterranean Middle Easterners and North Africans. Honestly, If had to guess where the Indian heritage from India comes in lot play, it could very well be from the English side since England has a large population of Indians and vice versa due to political aspects within the countries.

          • Mixed Kidd says:

I obviously know that India isn’t in the Mediterranean. I was talking about the North African/Middle Eastern part from his Italian side… but the Portuguese were also in parts of India too like Goa for a certain time, and Portuguese are considered Mediterranean also too in certain cases. But that’s possible too I guess if he actually does have ancestors. He should take a DNA test. There’s also even Indians in Guyana, Trinidad and other Caribbean islands that British colonized.. Even in parts of Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and the list goes on. They’s the second most populated country in the world so his Indian side can be anywhere, not just Britain

He is half Italian and his mom seems to be English and Scottish. The Native American claim seems typical among people here but is often not true.

  3. andrew says:

the source of his Native American ancestry might be from his maternal great-great-great-grandmother Sarah Philips, who is described as 1/2 American Indian here:
