Miguel Arteta is a Puerto Rican film and television director. He is known for his films Chuck & Buck, The Good Girl, Youth in Revolt, and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, among others.

His father is from Peru and his mother is from Spain. He was raised partly in Costa Rica and Boston, Massachusetts, U.S. He has stated:

I identify myself as Puerto Rican, but with the caveat that, when I grew up here, people didn’t think of me as a Puerto Rican, because of my accent, sort of a mix of Peruvian/Spanish accents. Which is pretty different than Puerto Rican…
