Michael Bisping is a British mixed martial arts fighter.

Michael was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, on a British military base, and was raised in Clitheroe, Lancashire, England. He is the son of Kathleen (Armkage) and Jan Konrad Bisping. His father, who was born in London, England, has Polish, English, 1/8th Italian, and some European Royal, ancestry. His mother is Irish.

Michael’s paternal grandfather was Andrzej/Andrew Józef Bobola Bisping (the son of Jan Nepomucen Kamil Bisping and Maria Józefa Zamoyska). Andrzej was a Polish noble, and a military leader of the “Bishop’s Pings”, hence the surname Bisping and the nickname “The Count.” Jan was the son of Józef Bisping and Helena Hołyńska. Michael’s great-grandmother Maria Józefa was born in Warsaw, the daughter of Andrzej Przemysław Konstanty Zamoyski, książę, and of Maria Carolina Giuseppina Ferdinanda, of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, who was Italian, born in Napoli, Campania, Italy; she had some European Royal ancestry.

Michael’s paternal grandmother was named Mary Greenwood.
