Michael B. Jordan is an American actor, producer, and director. He is known for his roles in the films Hardball (2001), Blackout, Pastor Brown, Red Tails, Chronicle, Fruitvale Station, That Awkward Moment, Fantastic Four (2015), Creed, and its sequels; Black Panther, and its sequel; Just Mercy, Without Remorse, and A Journal for Jordan, as well as the animated Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox; and on the shows The Wire, All My Children, The Assistants, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, Fahrenheit 451, Gen:Lock, and America the Beautiful.

Michael is the son of Donna (Davis) and Michael Jordan. He is not related to the basketball player of (almost) the same name, Michael Jordan. He was born in Orange, California, and raised mostly in Newark, New Jersey. His parents are both African-American.

Michael was selected People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2020. He is the fifth non-white man, and the fifth man of significant African ancestry, to have been given this title by the magazine (Denzel Washington, in 1996, is the first, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in 2016, Idris Elba, in 2018, and John Legend, in 2019, are the others, fitting both criteria).

    African-American isn’t an ethnicity. If you are going to classify the person by skin use the term race not ethnicity. I’m not understanding how the folks running this site don’t know the difference between race and ethnicity. Strange.

      African Americans, also referred to as Black Americans or Afro-Americans, are an ethnic group of Americans (citizens or residents of the United States) with total or partial ancestry from any of the native populations of Sub-Saharan Africa.
