Michael Ansara was a Syrian-American actor. His roles included the shows Broken Arrow, as Native American character Cochise; Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Star Trek: The Original Series, Law of the Plainsman, and the voice of Mr. Freeze in Batman animations.

He was born in a small village in the Mandate for Syria and the Lebanon, the son of Syria Sarah (Assaley) and George Naseif Ansara. His family moved to the U.S. when he was two, settling in Lowell, Massachusetts. He was a Greek Orthodox Christian.

He was married to actress Beverly Kushida, until his death. He had a son with his former wife, actress, singer, and producer Barbara Eden.

Michael’s paternal grandfather was Naseif Ansara (the son of Macol Ansara and Mary Murad).
