I don’t care where he or his parents are from. He’s a fine Black man.

  2. Jonathan Durham-Santiago says:

So if he is half puerto rican, why do they say cuban? and afro-carribean is the “lighter” and more “exotic” way of saying haitian. but before i saw this, i just assumed that he was half black half white.

  3. Ilia Tutuoa says:

I’m Caribbean. Please stop using Afro Caribbean. That’s only for people who aren’t Caribbean. Gerald Maxwell Rivera is Caribbean period. His mother is Trinidadian and his father was Puerto Rican. End of discussion

Afro Caribbean, is, anyone who is from a Caribbean island, with African features. Like Afro Cuban music, which is music, from Cubans, born in Cuba, with African features. I am also from the Caribbean.

    Technically, I don’t care what he is! He’s a divine species! I adore him! : )

  5. Idontgetit says:

How is he African “American”, when his parents are from the Caribbean?? Wouldn’t he be Afro-Hispanic??

    • Adriana says:

That would make him afro-Caribbean, and Puerto Rican, also african american, since that is also a part of his ethnicity ( he was born in the united states). Thus all 3 should be mentioned.
