She also mentioned on Lopez Tonight that she has a Venezuelan great grandmother on her father’s side. Unfortunately, her bi-racial family was the target of racial slurs and hostility while young Mariah was growing up.

Now you say her mother is white,why because she appears that way.If you look around enough you will see an appearance of white can be deceiving,as I have proven over and over again.Now there are full blood black people down in that country.So we don’t know how mixed or if he is mixed at all.Now your also going by Mariah’s physical appearance,but like I said that can be deceiving

She is quite obviously NOT half black. I would give her a quarter if anything. Her mother is white and her father is of mixed background. The AVERAGE Venezuelans are mixed raced with Spaniard (white), Native American, and Black. Also African Americans, by average, are 20% white by total ancestry. Its quite blatantly clear that she is not half black like Barack Obama. Like I said, 1/4 tops, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it were something less.

I can’t speak for everyone else,but it wouldn’t have change how I think of her.However I don’t think that the reason.In her own statement,(in this country i’m BLACK).That right there tells me how she really feels,she wants to be less black.Now this is just my opinion,but it seems like the same old story:

Mariah’s hair has always been blonde, maybe darker shades, but it is still considered blonde not brown. Her first album cover has a black background with very little light shining on her hair and only on her face really so yes her hair looks darker

Do you also know how many black women have dyed there whole heads blonde it doesn’t mean they’re trying to be more white. After Mariah divorced Tommy she was being free and just being who she was and wanted to wear her hair the way she wanted and wear the clothing she wanted. Not to mention everyone was leaving the big curly hair behind anyway. Her label and manager wanted her to appear more white I think it all fits under what Elvis Manager thought Phillips, meanwhile, was always on the lookout for someone who could bring the sound of the black musicians on whom Sun focused to a broader audience. As Keisker reported, “Over and over I remember Sam saying, ‘If I could find a white man who had the Negro sound and the Negro feel, I could make a billion dollars.’”
If Mariah really wanted to be less black than she would’ve just hid that little secret when she first came out because back then everyone thought she was a white girl trying to sing black. Mariah claims proudly that she is half black and half white. In her Fantasy video she specifically enlisted ODB a black rapper to rap on the remix when her label thought it was a bad idea and had black dancers in it along with her Dreamlover video. When she was doing the Honey Remix she enlisted Sean Combs a black man to produce it and when she did Boy I Need You she enlisted Cam’Ron a black rapper to rap on it. Jermaine Dupri a black man a friend of hers has helped write and produce some of her songs. Rachel a black woman, her bestfriend, and her cheographer is black. Trey Lorenz a close friend of hers and her sometimes back up singer on I’ll Be Their and she his, on Pisces, is black. Her label head LA Reid is black, and so is her manager C.Lighty. All her backup singers and bestfriends, Sherry and Maryanne are black. Her best friend Jasmine Dotiwala is Indian I think but the point is, is that she’s got brown skin. For someone who just wants to be less black Mariah doesn’t do a very good job of it by proclaiming that she’s half black and surrounding herself with so many black friends, acquaintences, doing business with black people. Not to mention that interview with George Lopez was done in 2009 and the previous year she married Nick Cannon a black man.

As for the people talking about her not taking that DNA test Mariah has already traced her family tree on both sides so she knows that her mother is 100 percent Irish and she knows who she is and isn’t related to, and enough biracial people have had enough crap to deal with than anything else into the mix.

I thought it was interesting that Ms. Carey refused to take the DNA test. The test may not be “full proof” but it would have been interesting none the less. (In my opinion) I think she was afraid she might disappoint her black supporters if she finds out that she’s not as black as she claimed (she mentioned on the Lopez Tonight show that she was half Irish and half African American.) I may be wrong. Just a thought.

Mariah must not know her history, lol. If you take a DNA test, then it won’t say Latino because Latino is not a race. 600 years ago, Latinos didn’t not exist. You were either European or Native American.
