Manny was born on Santo Domingo, the son of Onelcida, a seamstress, and Aristides Ramírez, a cab driver. His family moved to the U.S. when he was thirteen, settling in Washington Heights, Queens, New York City, New York. He is married to Juliana. He has three children, including two with Juliana. His son, Manny Ramirez, Jr., also plays baseball.
