Maggie Q is an American actress and model. She has starred in the films Live Free or Die Hard and Death of Me, and the series Nikita and Designated Survivor. She is also known as Maggie D. Quigley.

Maggie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S. Her father is American-born, and is of Polish, as well as Irish and French, descent. Her mother is Vietnamese. Her parents met when her father was stationed in Vietnam.

She became popular starring in Hong Kong movies, and took Mandarin and Cantonese lessons to aid her career.

Maggie’s paternal grandmother was Mary Theresa Gazdzik (the daughter of Aloysius Gazdzik and Helen Nowicka). Mary Theresa was born in New York, and all of her grandparents were Polish. Aloysius was the son of Stanislaus Gazdzik and Katharine Trojak. Helen was the daughter of Albert Nowicki and Annie.

      This is true. I watched a Mandarin movie with Maggie Q and she was speaking Mandarin Chinese. Not Cantonese, There are different types of Chinese languages. So I thought I should be specific. You are correct, however.
