Luis Eduardo Aute was a Filipino-born Spanish musician, singer, composer, sculptor, writer, painter, and film director.

His father, Gumersindo Aute Junquera, was Catalan, from Barcelona, Barcelona, and also had some French ancestry. He worked for a tobacco company in Manila. His mother, Amparo Gutiérrez-Répide Carpi, was a Filipina, of Spanish descent, Castilian, Valencian, Andalusian, and Asturian. He was married to María del Carmen Rosado González, and had three children.

Luis Eduardo attended the De La Salle School, where he learned English and Tagalog, which was used in his family.

Luis Eduardo’s patrilineal line can be traced back to his third great-grandfather, Ventura Aute, of Urgell, Lleida.

Luis’ paternal grandfather was Luis Carlos Aute Argelaguet (the son of José Aute Jover and Amalia Argelaguet Coma). Luis’s grandfather Luis was born in Cádiz, Cádiz. José was the son of José Aute Hacar and Francisca Jover de Toro. Luis Eduardo’s great-great-grandfather José’s maternal grandfather, Nicolas (or Nicolás in Spanish) Hacar, was French. Luis Eduardo’s great-grandmother Amalia was the daughter of Luis Argelaguet Coma, whose own father, Charles (or Carles in Catalan, or Carlos in Spanish) Argelaguet, was French, and of María Mercedes Coma Guerra. and María Junquera.

Luis’ paternal grandmother is María de los Milagros Felipa Neri María del Rosario Junquera Blanco (the daughter of Felipe Benicio Buenaventura Junquera-Huergo y Plá and Manuela Josefa Blanco). María was born in Córdoba, Córdoba. Felipe was the son of Sandalio Junquera-Huergo y Pérez de la Sala and Felipa Neri Plá y Junquera-Huergo. Luis’ great-grandmother Manuela was a foundling, and was the biological daughter of an unknown father and Sabina Blanco.

Luis’ maternal grandfather was Eduardo María Luis Mauricio Gregorio Plácido Froylán Gutiérrez Répide (the son of Francisco Gutiérrez Creps and Victoriana Répide Draga). Eduardo was born in Iloilo, Philippines, to Spanish parents, his father from El Pardo, Madrid and his mother from Moraleja de Enmedio, Madrid. Francisco was the son of Mauricio Gutiérrez Caño and Gregoria Creps y López Hidalgo. Gregoria’s paternal grandfather, Anton (or Antonio in Spanish) Creps, was German. Victoriana was the daughter of Santiago Répide and Vicenta Draga.

Luis’ maternal grandmother was Julieta Carpi Millán (the daughter of José Andrés Carpi Sanz and Julia Millán Blanco). Julieta came from Nules, Castellón, Valencia. José Andrés was the son of Teodoro Carpi Tarín and Josefa Sanz Abad. Julia was born in Santo Tomas, Batangas, Philippines, and was the daughter of Baldomero Millán Simón, of Valencia, and of Dolores Blanco González, of Manila.

    Luis’ Spanish ancestry also has Valencian roots. Also, split Catalan from Spanish. Victoriana was from Moraleja de Enmedio, Madrid, not in El Pardo.
