Are you sure “Pielou” is a Dutch surname?

I thought it was French. There are Canadians with that surname.

At least her mother was likely not English with a first name like Adrianne, regardless of her surname. But who knows.

I tried to find an interview with her mother to hear if she has an accent, but without result.

It looks French but it could be a different spelling of another surname.

“Adriaane” is a Dutch name, so her mother might have Afrikaner ancestry or something

Seems reasonable given that her father grew up in Africa.
