Sorry to imform you Sammie but your green-blue eyes did not come from your African ancestry. People comment on this subject all over this site but never research the information. Blue eyes are a genetic mutation that occurred AFTER people left Africa. The mutation occurred 6,000 – 10,000 years ago approx in the area of Romania (north west of the Black Sea area). Blue eyes do not have the pigment that makes eyes dark. Blue eyes have thrived in the areas of Europe where it is cold and cloudy. You really need that dark pigment in your eyes for survival in the climes of Africa don’t you think? Before this mutation occurred everyone had brown eyes. She doesn’t have to have German or Nordic ancestry. Blue eyes occur in other European populations that have little German or Nordic ancestry. She would have European ancestry in both parents to have the recessive genes for her eye colour.
