Overall, I dont really know, but I honestly think that him being russian is a fraud made up by the users who edit in fairytale stories to impress the fans. According to what I heard was totally different. Here is what I heard. In a 1995 interview with David Letterman, David was asking him about his middle name being german and last name italian. It was clear that I heard leo annouunce his mother is german and father was italian. But, there was nothing mentioned on him being russian. For instance, no part of his names are russian. Also, on Leo mania in 1998 the announcer even revealed he was born to a german mom and an italian dad! I think thats the biggest answer you will get from me.
