He asked the actor if he says in Russian.
“No, but if there was my grandmother, she would talk to you in Russian,” – said DiCaprio.
“I always wanted to bring my grandmother in St. Petersburg, but unfortunately, these plans have not come to fruition, as she died two years ago” – said the actor.
He also added that the Russian was and his grandfather.
“So I’m not on a quarter and I’m half-Russian,” – said the actor.

Maybe his maternal grandfather’s parents also were Russian emigrants, who changed their surname to the German style? I do not know what else to think about…

di caprio it’s a southern name..the surname with “di” are very common in south italy,especially in the region of campania.
