Lauri Pihlap is an Estonian singer. He is part of Estonian hip-hop act Soul Militia, earlier known as 2XL, alongside Sergei Morgun and Kaido Põldma. He won the Eurovision Song Contest 2001. He has also been billed as Lowry.

He is the son of Margit and singer Priit Pihlap.

Lauri’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his fourth great-grandfather, Jaan Pelapson.

Lauri’s paternal grandfather was Juhan Pihlap (the son of Jaak Pihlap and Alviine Valdner). Juhan was born in Tarvastu vald, Viljandimaa. Jaak was the son of Johan/Juhan Pihlapson and Ann Weissmann. Alviine was the daughter of Mai Valdner, later Valdna.

Lauri’s paternal grandmother was Leida Puidet (the daughter of Johan Puidet and Elisaveta “Liisa” Samson). Johan was the son of Andres Puidet and Mari Pikkur. Elisaveta was the daughter of Hindrik Samoson, later Samson, and of Kattri Мitt.

Lauri’s maternal grandfather was named Mihhail Bendt (the son of Julius Alexander Pent and Valentina). Mihhail was born in Tartu, Tartu County, Estonia. Julius was the son of Michel Pent and Leena Caroline Loor.

Lauri’s maternal grandmother was named Marta Hänilane (the daughter of Jakob Hänilane).
