As a Puerto Rican woman I am going to add a comment that should clear things up. Being PR is not race. You have PRs that are of the WHITE race and of the BLACK race. Everywhere I go, people say I am white. I do have alot of Euopean and Nodic ancestry but identify with being PR. I hate to break it to you, but most of my PR friends fall into the white race category. Even hispanics identify one another by color. As a child, I was called a “blancita”. We also refer to darker skinned hispanics as “Negritas” or “Morenas.” Its not an insult, just a skin color description. She is a BLACK PR. Someone like Ricky Martin would be a WHITE PR. Case closed. Stop confusing Race with ethnicity! Learn what a PHENOTYPE is people.

Just because someone looks Black doesn’t mean they aren’t mixed. I have a cousin who is half White, half African and she looks full African (she is WAAAY darker than this girl). That’s why i don’t assume someone is full Black by just looking at them. This woman looks mixed to me.

The Way people use the term RACE means nothing. A dark colored Indian with curly hair would be consider Black in America.
Genetics is the only truth. Puerto Ricans are 1/3 Native, 1/3 African, and 1/3 European as a whole, and it varies from family to family.
If a child if born fair skinned with light eyes they are considered white, however if their brother or sister that was born with darker skin and African traits they will be considered black.
I am Puerto Ricans and I look black, but my sister takes after my mother and looks like La La (light skin and light eyes).
In the future color is going to have less to do with race as more people will be mixed.
