Konstantin Chernenko was a Soviet politician. He led the USSR, as the fifth General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, from 13 February, 1984 to 10 March, 1985, his death. He was also Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union, from 11 April, 1984 to 10 March, 1985.

His father, Ustin Demidovich Chernenko, was of Ukrainian or part Ukrainian descent. Chernenko was married first to Faina Vassilyevna, with whom he had a son, and second to Anna Dmitrevna Lyubimova, with whom he had three children.

Konstantin’s paternal grandfather was named Demid Alekseevich Chernenko (the son of Alexey Moiseevich Chernenkov and Akulina Savelyevna). Alexey was the son of Moses Chernenkov.

Konstantin’s paternal grandmother was named Hebroniya/Fevronia Romanovna.
