Kirsty MacColl was a British singer and songwriter.

Kirsty was the daughter of Jean Mary (Newlove), a dancer, and Ewan MacColl (born James Henry Miller), a folk singer, songwriter, poet, playwright, actor, communist, labour activist, and record producer. Her father was born in Broughton, Lancashire, to Scottish parents. Her mother was English.

Kirsty’s paternal grandparents were William Miller and Betsy Hendry (the daughter of James Henry and Isabella Taylor). James was the son of John Henry and Betsy Buchanan.

Kirsty’s maternal grandparents’ surnames were “Newlove” and “Hartwell”.
