Kimberly Peirce is an American screenwriter, film director, and producer. Kimberly was raised between New York and Florida. She is known for her films Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss, and Carrie (2013).

Kimberly is the daughter of Sherry Kandel and Robert Materazzi. Her father was later adopted by a man named Ross Peirce, and changed his surname.

Kimberly has stated that she is of Italian and Jewish descent.

Kimberly’s paternal grandfather was Albert Robert Materazzi (the son of Adelson Materazzi and Rena/Rina Gradi). Albert was born in New York, to parents from Italy. Adelson was born in Tuscany, the son of Ferdinando Materazzi and Clotilde Meniceschi. Rina was born in Umbria.

Kimberly’s paternal grandmother was Maryann Boyer (the daughter of Charles William Boyer and Mollie/Molly Hollinger). Maryann was born in Pennsylvania. Charles was the son of George W. Boyer and Georganna Markley. Mollie was the daughter of Abram Kurtz Hollinger and Catharine Ann “Katy/Katie” Heagy.
