Keizō Obuchi was a Japanese politician, who served as the 54th Prime Minister of Japan, from 30 July, 1998 to 5 April, 2000. He was also Chief Cabinet Secretary, from 6 November, 1987 to 3 June, 1989, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, from 11 September, 1997 to 30 July, 1998, among other duties.

He was the son of Chiyo and Mitsuhei Obuchi. He was married to environmental essayist Chizuko Ono, with whom he had three children, including politician Yūko Obuchi, who was Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, from 3 September, 2014 to 21 October, 2014.
