Brazilian is not an ethnicity, but a nationality. Brazil attracted many italian immigrants in the past, tho. So I believe her mother has some italian heritage.
I’ve seen some italian surnames ending in -io (like Selvaggi/Selvaggio), and also with the “t” changing to a “d” (like Salvatore/Salvadore), or with the “o” changing to a “u” (Spirito/Spiritu), depending on the dialect. So there’s a possibility that Scodelario may be an evolved form of Scodellari/Scodellaro.

(Sorry if my english is bad)

    • Multiethnicchick says:

Well you English is bad but that’s okay. Brazilian is both an ethnic group and a nationality.

      • Andour says:

After a whole comment about her ethnicity and claiming someone has bad english without having a reason to, just shows how stupid and ignorant you are.
And who are you to claim that Brazilian is an ethnicity?
What a reductive conception, a perfect example of an ignorant American who thinks they have the moral standing to reduce a country as an ethnicity.
No colonized country is ethnic, and period.
Any generalization is erroneous and this is imperative.
Brazil is multicultural and has had numerous immigrations throughout history and if you are referring to native Brazilians, they also do not have this perception of claiming themselves as Brazilians for not converging with a conception of nation imported from Portuguese settlers, just so you know.
Saying that Brazilian nationality is ethnicity is weak, reductive and disrespectful.
And for a foreigner to say that is not only disrespectful, it’s pathetic.
Go educate yourself, learn some history of the country in question, and maybe history in a general sense, before spewing your arrogance to someone else in the comments.
Because if your English is not “Bad”, learn to argue or just sit back and shut up. xo

          No colonized country is ethnicity*.
And there are numerous ethnicities of indigenous natives in Brazil and they have their own language and do not adopt a Brazilian identity, much less a Brazilian ethnic identity.
